With a Westerly direction at Bigbury you need water between Burgh Island and the mainland to take advantage of the funneling effect. This would explain why there was a whole bunch of boards rigged with 4.5s sitting on the beach as the sailors waited for the tide to come in.

After watching a couple of underpowered guinea pigs I opted for the floaty wave board and my 5.4 with a brand new Tush RDM, this was the right choice.

Had an excellent couple of hours with some nice jumps on the way out and some decent rides on the way in. Though my stbd tack frontside riding is not the most stylish on the water I was still getting 3 bottom turns on the wave. A few more sessions like this and I should have the wave riding nailed. Just need the bottle to go for forwards before I hit the big four o this year (new years resolution)

The wind finally died on a short but excellent session.
